Rob Draper for Precision IO
05

Brachytherapy taught me needles, physicists and capital committees. That is this role.

Who should open radiation oncology for Epione? Someone radiation oncologists already know, who has sold precise needle placement, launched technology nobody had bought yet, and carried capital through academic committees. I have contacts at Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Stanford and MD Anderson, and I would start there.

Seven things this role needs. Six already placed.

The seventh I would build in the first week. Each line runs from what the role needs to the proof I bring.

  1. 01

    Credibility in radiation oncology

    Varian

Years selling radiation oncology and brachytherapy capital. I know how chairs, physicists and dosimetrists decide, and I have contacts today at Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Stanford and MD Anderson.

  2. 02

    Needle placement workflows

    Brachytherapy

Templates, needle paths and dosimetry decide the case. I know how physicians think about where a needle lands, and why it drifts.

  3. 03

Creating a market, not inheriting one

    100%

Of Polarean's 2023 revenue, from landing the first adopters of a new lung imaging technology. Biodesix and Monitored Therapeutics were launches too.

  4. 04

    Capital through academic committees

    150%+

Of plan at Varian, with President's Club. I know 9 to 18 month cycles and value analysis committees.

  5. 05

    Credibility in academic medical centers

    5 AMCs

Mayo Clinic, Rush, Vanderbilt, UT Southwestern and UCLA. A radiation oncologist, a physicist and a CFO in the same week.

  6. 06

Comfort with AI and new tools

    This site

I used AI agents to research it and build the tools on page 06, and checked the sources myself. That is how I would run the role.

  7. 07

    Indication and study experience

    Gap

I know how physicians evaluate new technology, but I have not run an indication expansion. Medical affairs and regulatory own that work; I would bring them the physicians, the centers and the clinical questions from the first week.

    Partnering from day one

Placed: proven in my track recordOpen: a gap I would close on purpose

Where I have sold, and how.

Accounts I have sold into

Mayo Clinic, Rush, Vanderbilt, UT Southwestern, UCLA, Cincinnati Children's, Children's Colorado. Contacts today at Ohio State, Stanford and MD Anderson too.

How I sell

Consultative and clinician first. I earn physician trust, then carry the case to administration and the committee.

How I finish

Four full and eight half Ironman races, and a volunteer with Dare2Tri. Long sales cycles feel familiar.

References on request. Physicians and former managers from Varian, Polarean and Biodesix can speak to how I sell and how I launch.

Let's pressure test the role.

Radiation oncology is a market Epione hasn't entered yet. That is exactly why it needs someone who knows the room, can build the clinical case with medical affairs, and has a launch ready when the label allows.

Create the role as a 12 month pilot, starting with Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Stanford and MD Anderson, with access to clinical, regulatory and medical affairs leadership. In 30 days I will show you which use is real. In 12 months you will have the clinical input for a filing, or a clear no.
